Kate, I noticed water around the bottom of the toilet.  I imagine the wax ring didn't fully seal.  Sometimes it just needs to be tighter.  You all will have to pull it anyway to install a new floor in there and you will need a new wax ring then anyway.  However, if you would like me to do it, then let me know.
